HC340LA High Strength Low Alloy Steel for Automotive Structural Parts
HC340LA is a 340MPa-class cold-rolled microalloyed HSLA (High-Strength Low-Alloy) steel, serving as a core specialized material for manufacturing automotive structural components. It features high strength, high rigidity, excellent fatigue resistance, and superior formability. Produced by Da Ziran Steel via advanced continuous annealing, it achieves an optimal balance of load-bearing capacity, stamping formability, welding stability, and impact toughness, effectively resolving industry challenges such as deformation under long-term loading, stamping cracks, insufficient weld strength, and dynamic fatigue failure during vehicle operation.
HC340LA delivers a minimum yield strength of 340MPa and tensile strength ranging from 410 to 510MPa. Its high-strength properties enable it to withstand extreme impact loads, providing robust body structure protection, effectively enhancing crash safety and safeguarding occupants.
Excellent Formability for Complex Processes
The steel offers outstanding plasticity, with elongation ≥21% and strain hardening exponent (n-value) ≥0.18. It easily handles complex cold-forming processes including deep drawing and stretching, meeting diverse design requirements for automotive structural parts, reducing cracking risks, and improving production efficiency.
Superb Weldability for Stable Joints
With low carbon content (≤0.12%) and optimized alloy composition, HC340LA has a low carbon equivalent and excellent weldability. It produces high-quality welds in spot welding, arc welding, and other joining processes, ensuring structural integrity and stability of the vehicle body.
Lightweight Enablement for Energy Saving & Emission Reduction
At equivalent strength, HC340LA allows component thickness reduction, significantly lowering vehicle weight. This improves fuel economy for traditional fuel vehicles and extends driving range for new energy vehicles, aligning with the automotive industry’s green and low-carbon development trend.
